A Tale of Two Women is about avery special relationship. Carol is a victim of Alzheimers Disease and Shirley had been her companion for seven years. I witnessed this relationship grow along with Carol's deterioration. In Sertember 1997 I feft compelled to document their lives. The devotion of Shirley and the essence of Carol has been the focal point of this project. I wanted these photographs to be specific in meaning and respectful to the subject.
